My absolute favourite dessert in bed. Whisky and book. Mmm mmm!!!

For this Sally Rooney's book the best combination for me is this stunning bottle of Caol Ila. Sally is able to talk about very complicated young adults' feelings in an extremely simple and easy manner. I love this style! Dostojevsky, the master of this style, always leaves me speachless! To reach such depths of human mind and present it like a piece of cake on your plate😍 this is a quality to be desired!

Caol Ila 18yo at first can look quite an ordinary and simple dram. But when you swallow the second sip it reveals itself at its real glory with the ocean of different flavours. To be honest with you almost all Caol Ila's whiskies have this quality. Simple at the surface, but deep within.

The end of May in my life is irreversibly engraved with many good drams, buzz around the island, many merry whisky fans and noisy bars with people and music. It is also a time of extra working hours, stress, rush, tiredness. Yes. I‘m talking about the annual whisky and music festival – Feis Ile. Despite all the stress before the biggest whisky celebration I absolutely love this time of a year! Perhaps almost as much as Christmas!

It‘s like the island gets some extra wings then. Everyone is walking just that a bit above the ground. Either due shock over tripled Islay population or due to one too many drams of whisky. But the island is ALIVE then!

It will already be the second year when Feis on the island is cancelled due the reasons everyone is aware of. However, this year I want to bring you a bit of Feis and whisky islands to your homes. Every day starting from Saturday I will be sharing my favourite memory from each distilleries’ Feis opening day! Traditionally, Saturday is Lagavulin‘s day, so I‘ll see you then, with my favourite memory from this distillery.
